The 5th part of the Scrum Learning Series is this Wednesday at 5:30 in the boardroom. I nick-named this session “Practice while you preach”, in hopes that we will pick a product which we will use to get some practice with developing software together, while learning about Scrum.
I’m actually pretty excited to create software as part of a user group, because I think that is one aspect of living the ideas expressed in the Manifesto for Agile Software Development, specifically this part:
We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it…
I added the emphasis. The other part I like to think our group incorporates is putting individuals and interactions over processes and tools. We do this through the format of the meeting, which is a round-table interaction between the individuals attending, and not the more common presenter – audience format.
I look forward to other applications of the agile values to a user group we will uncover. If you would like to join us, you are welcome here!
